Let's celebrate weddings - the joining of two people in love

Your Wedding - A guide to fees

Most wedding celebrants tailor their fees to take into consideration the requirements of each couple. This is what I do.

Some celebrants don't disclose their fee information on their websites. I provide you with this guide as I feel I offer a professional service for an appropriate fee.

Celebrants generally charge more than the NSW Registry Office (which charges $378 for a standard weekend wedding) as a celebrant's fee needs to cover:

  • travelling to the venue of your choice (instead of the registry office which can only hold a small number of guests)
  • designing a ceremony to suit you (instead of having the stock standard service offered at the registry office)
  • giving you more time and flexibility for your wedding service
  • handling all paperwork and legalities for couples
  • preparing a presentation copy of your wedding ceremony
  • provision of a Public Address System
  • maintaining security
  • insurances
  • keeping resources up to date
  • professional development

My fees start from $400 and include all of the above.

The lower end of the fee scale would apply if you wanted to get married on a weekday evening (Monday - Thurs) or wanted a very simple wedding, with only your witnesses, that was conducted in my home office, for example.

The higher end is for peak time weekend weddings - Most weekend weddings (Fri - Sat - Sun) cost $450 - $500. Let's talk about your requirements and we can take it from there.

It will cost more than $500 if you require me to travel great distances , want a very complex service or require that I dress a particular way (i.e. if you're having a themed wedding e.g. medieval).
